“We love them! Thank you so so much!”

Where do I start? It's fair to say that I love every wedding that I have the privilege of documenting but this has to be up there as one of my all-time favourites! Liz contacted me over a year ago when she was looking for a wedding photographer to capture her big day at the Carus Green Golf Club here in Kendal. She explained that her family were local and that Dan's family were from East Lancashire where they both now lived. She told me how it would be a real coming together of the different counties with each side of the family more proud of where they come from than the other - I noticed this immediately upon meeting Liz's dad who was keen to point out to me that he was wearing the red rose of Lancashire! What an incredible day full of all things shiny - laughter, smiles, the hottest and brightest sun ever, an amazing couple, bridesmaids, groomsmen, friends, family and atmosphere! What an absolute pleasure it was to be part of it! I had such a laugh, thank you. I miss this wedding, I miss editing it and I miss the company of these amazing people! One of the hardest things about being a wedding photographer is that you get to know everyone so well, and often, for just one day! Here are some of my favourite photos from the day.

Liz got ready at her mum's house with her bridesmaids and family - such an incredible atmosphere and beautifully colourful house.

I then set off to catch up with Dan and his groomsmen, and Liz's dad at the Carus Green Golf Club.

Liz set the tone with her arrival, her bridesmaids then shielding her from Dan's view as he spoke with the registrars. We then had the most memorable ceremony where Dan dropped the ring and Liz whipped her handwritten vows out from her bra! Hilarious!

Group photos were anything but boring!

Table decorations were delightfully rustic. When Liz found out it was going to be a few hours until the wedding breakfast was served she ordered a secret pizza for her and her bridesmaids! Shhhh! I was also made an honorary bridesmaid because I can't resist pizza, it's my weakness! Thanks, Liz!

Speeches were just hilarious, with the best man omitting a good chunk of his speech after realising it was perhaps just a bit too rude to repeat! I asked to grab a photo of his speech that was neatly typed up but he wasn't keen on letting me see what he had omitted, so I respected his wishes and left them in peace to enjoy the long-awaited wedding breakfast!

Once everyone was full, including me (thank you, Liz and Dan), wedding coordinator Shannon kindly drove us all on the golf buggy to an area of the golf course where we could get some intimate photos.

We then headed back for cake cutting, the first dance and evening celebrations with Craig on the decks!

As the party carried on, I said my goodbyes and grabbed a few images of the celebration from afar.

All in all, this was an amazing wedding, and definitely, one that I won't ever forget. A huge congratulations to Liz and Dan and a massive thank you to them, their family and the Carus Green Golf Club for all of their hospitality. If you're looking for a lake district wedding photographer, please get in touch. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
