Nikki & Karl | St. Mark's Church, Natland | Low Wood Bay Hotel, Windermere

Nikki and Karl got married at St Mark's Church, Natland; a quaint little church in the village of Natland followed by a reception at the beautiful Low Wood Bay Hotel, Windermere.

We were truly blessed with the weather - leading up to the big day the forecast threatened heavy rain and then the night before, it changed to sunny spells. Not ideal but much better than what was predicted and much more favourable for Nikki who really wasn't keen on getting wet - and who could blame her!

We joked that she must have friends with influence up 'there' and it turns out that she had been talking to her Grandad who sadly passed before the wedding. He may not have been there physically but we truly believe that he was looking on, for aside from the little bit of liquid sunshine that we had in the morning, the weather held. The day before and the day after were shall we say, for want of a better word, torrential!

After the ceremony, we moved to the reception at the Low Wood Bay which was just perfect! Karl and Nikki were greeted with champagne on arrival, followed by a beautiful wedding breakfast and speeches. The speeches were amazing; they were extremely funny and we all learnt a lot more about Karl than we needed to know, and of course the love of his life, Nicki. Following this, we walked down to the shore of the lake for some more intimate portraits with the beautiful backdrop of Lake Windermere and the Lakeland hills.

On return, Nikki's bridesmaids were pretty keen on getting some fun and relaxed photos with the bride and so we returned to the shore. Having had a bit to drink by now, everyone had really loosened up and it was a real pleasure to document some truly fun and candid moments. Probably my favourite part of the day as a wedding photographer!

It was my absolute pleasure and a real privilege to be part of this awesome couple's big day. Karl and Nikki, you have some amazing friends and family, it's clear that you are meant to be together and I wish you all the very best for whatever the future holds!

I hope you will enjoy looking at a small selection of some of my favourite photos from the day.
