From Wedding Bells to New Beginnings: Max and Katherine's Unforgettable Day at the Cragwood Hotel
Life has been an absolute whirlwind lately, but as things start to slow down, I’m excited to finally share some of the incredible love stories I’ve had the privilege to capture. Let’s start with Max and Katherine’s summer wedding at the Cragwood Hotel.
This wedding holds a particularly special place in my heart. Years ago, Max reached out to me, saying he’d always dreamed of having me as his wedding photographer. Fast forward to this summer, and seeing that dream come to life was an honour I’ll never forget. It was one of those moments that reminds me why I love doing what I do.

The Cragwood Hotel is located right on the edge of Lake Windermere and provides the perfect setting for Max and Katherine’s big day. With its beautifully maintained gardens and historic charm, the venue as always, offered endless opportunities for stunning photos. Every corner tells its own story, which makes it a joy to work at. It was the day of the Great North Swim next door at Brockhole, and whilst the roads were busy, they were no busier than usual which was refreshing, to say the least! We were blessed with summer sunlight, blue sky and a beautiful golden light which enhanced every detail.
Katherine started her morning surrounded by her closest friends and family, getting ready in one of the hotel’s beautiful suites. There was a calm yet excited energy in the room as her hair and makeup came together flawlessly. Every detail, from her dress to her delicate jewellery, had been thoughtfully chosen, and she looked absolutely radiant. Meanwhile, Max was downstairs pacing nervously, his hands fidgeting as he glanced at the clock. He didn't like having his photo taken but having seen my work, he trusted me implicitly.

Despite his nerves, he couldn’t hide his excitement, and the moment he saw Katherine walking down the aisle, it was clear all the anticipation was worth it.
The day was made even more unforgettable by Katherine, who was eight months pregnant and absolutely glowing. She was full of joy, and it was touching to see the love and excitement between her and Max as they prepared for the arrival of their little one. Watching Katherine walk down the aisle, with Max waiting for her, was a powerful moment. Their happiness was clear to everyone there.

For those wondering about the next chapter for Max and Katherine, I’m delighted to share some great news—baby Emelia arrived safe and sound, weighing a healthy 10 lbs! Huge congratulations to them on their new arrival. What an incredible way to start this new chapter.
Being part of their journey, from capturing their wedding day to hearing about baby Emelia’s arrival, has been a privilege. These are the kinds of moments that make me truly grateful for the work I do, preserving memories for couples as they move into the next stages of their lives.
