Eleanor and James’ Lakeside Engagement Shoot: Sunshine, Smiles, and Squinty Moments!


When Eleanor and James booked me for their engagement shoot in the beautiful Lake District, they had one request: sunshine. While cloudy days can make for a moody atmosphere, there's something magical about the warm glow of the sun. To make sure we got that perfect weather, we decided to reschedule, and I’m so glad we did – the sun really came out in full force!


It was one of those days where the sunlight was absolutely blazing, creating stunning moments for photos but also a few squinty faces – including mine! As much as I love shooting into the sun, it can definitely be a challenge, and let’s just say my eyes are still recovering from all that brightness.


But despite the sun’s intense glare, we had a blast capturing some really special moments between Eleanor and James. It’s always so rewarding to photograph a couple who are so in love and genuinely excited about the experience, and their joy really shines through in every shot.


Though the sun may have been a little too generous at times, I couldn’t have asked for a better day. I’m thrilled with how these images turned out, and I hope you can feel the warmth, love, and laughter from this beautiful Lakeside engagement shoot.

It’s always a pleasure to work with couples like Eleanor and James, whose energy and excitement make every shoot memorable. The Lake District truly provides the perfect backdrop for love stories, and as a wedding photographer in Cumbria, I’m so grateful to have been a part of theirs.
