There are lots of beautiful places to get married in the Lake District, but The Inn on the Lake is definitely one of my favourites to photograph. Set right on the shores of Ullswater, it gives you stunning lake views, beautiful gardens, easy lakeside access, and a backdrop of fells that works brilliantly in photographs.


Whatever the season, there are loads of good options for photos here. The gardens work beautifully for relaxed portraits, the jetty is perfect for lakeside shots, and the reflection pool can look amazing in the right conditions. If the weather turns, there are also plenty of sheltered spots and indoor options, so you’re not relying on one area. It’s exactly the kind of setting I enjoy working in as a Lake District wedding photographer.

My approach here as a wedding photographer in the Lake District is natural and unobtrusive. Most of the day I’m just documenting what’s happening, then stepping in with a bit of direction when needed. Typical shots include:
