The ceremony barn with its exposed stone and ambient lighting is a joy to shoot in – warm, atmospheric, and intimate. Then there’s the outdoor space: whether we’re wandering up the lane for a quiet moment, catching golden hour by the dry-stone walls, or capturing intimate moments in the rain with rolling fields, there’s no shortage of backdrops. Even if the weather turns (which let’s face it, it sometimes does!), there’s always somewhere good to shoot.

A Bit About Me

I’m Mark – a Lake District wedding photographer and filmmaker based just outside Kendal. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph hundreds of weddings across the Lake District and Eden Barn is easily one of my favourites. It’s about a half hour from home for me, which means I know the drive, I know the light, and I know where to go if we need to pivot on the day. I come ready – boots, coat, backup plans and all.

I don’t pose you endlessly or keep you away from your guests for hours – I photograph what’s real: the moments, the energy, the bits you might’ve missed.

It's fairly dark and challenging for any photographer inside the wedding barn but there is some natural light - I always bring professional kit and a myriad of lighting to cover all conditions.

Yes – I design bespoke albums that show the day at its best, just ask when booking.

How much coverage do couples usually book?

Most go for full-day coverage to capture everything from morning prep through to the evening but I can be flexible if you're planning a smaller wedding or you want less coverage.
